Choir and Music Ministries

We believe that music is an important part of the Christian life. In fact music has a large role in every worship service.

Music can help prepare the hearts of God’s people to receive the Word of God. It is also an outlet to publicly praise the God we love and appreciate. We also thank the Lord for the talented singers who share their love for God in song.

Vance Bible Church has a great choir led by Bill Hitefield. Our choir does both traditional songs as well as contemporary style songs. I am thankful that we realize that there are many good songs continuing to be written today. It is so great to hear so many of God’s people sing in unity to praise the Lord Jesus Christ.

We also do some of the new worship songs in our sevice. We believe that to have a blended service helps both old and young to worship together. I believe that our younger generation must appreciate our roots and some of the great hymns of the faith. But the older generation must not get to the point where they believe that there are no new good songs be written today. It would be a sad situation if we were allowed to sing only the songs from a generation ago. How much better to have a balanced approach to worship, realizing that in every generation we must do our best to express our love and beliefs in song.
