Many people struggle with assurance of their salvation. They seem to go back and forth like a stormy wave as to their assurance. There are a number of things that should help one who is unsure.

1. Who are you trusting right now to get you to heaven? If you are just trying to look at changes as to your assurance these will go up and down. Who you are trusting is the issue, not what changes have taken place.

2. Next we need to rely upon God’s promise.  1 John 5:13

“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.” (NKJV). God has promised us eternal life in His Word, and wants us to rest upon this promise. Are you right now resting upon this promise?

3. Then we are told that we can trust God’s power that we are eternally saved. 1 Peter 1:5 “who are kept by the power of God through  faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” (NKJV). God is not only able to save you He is able to keep you saved eternally. You should be excited to know it is God’s power not yours that keeps you eternally secure!!

4. Finally The Word of God tells us that we are protected by God to ensure our destiny.  “And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.” John 10:28-29 (NKJV).

These verses tell us that every person who trusts Jesus as their Savior is in the hand of Jesus and also in the

Father’s hand. We are told no one can take us out of those hands!

So, do you know you are secure? It is not feelings. It is based on God and His Word.
